Slow cookers have been around since the 1940’s, and the first patent was the Crock-Pot. Slow cookers have many benefits. They are great for making a one-pot meal such as a Breakfast Casserole, Easy French Onion Soup or Crock-pot Mac-n-Cheese. Size makes a difference. I use a normal or larger size here at home. However, I use my smaller one on my sailboat. I do like having slow cookers around for the holidays. They are great for keeping food warm like mashed potatoes, gravies, Ina’s Herb Apple Stuffing or Slow Cooker Orange Cranberry Sauce. They probably are your most efficient kitchen appliance because of all the diverse things you can do in a slow cooker.
